Heart Words

Upon this writing, the first full week of 2021 as been well, an explosive entrance to the new year!

In classes, we’ve been focusing on releasing to receive, emotional balance, setting intentions, and opening our hearts to tune into our unique wellspring of love and joy, in spite of all the outside circumstances swirling, cascading, crashing about.  The choice to start each new day from our heart instead of our head, opens a door to emotional freedom and offers a lightening of what seems unbearable.

We can hold both things. The weight of all that causes us fear, anger, discomfort & suffering, lives in the same body that love, inner peace, acceptance and joy reside. We can be both/and. Both full of love and joy, yet deeply concerned about the state of our democracy. Contentment and concern. And it’s the really hard stuff that illuminates our capacity for resilience.

So, let us stay strong, go easy and don’t let outside circumstances weaken your spirit and your power.

Thank you for being you and continuing to show up for yourselves, your communities and the world.

❣️All Love❣️

Here are the 2 readings by Melody Beattie, shared in classes since 2021 began:

Honor the Beginning

Beginnings can be delicate or explosive. They can start almost invisibly or arrive with a big bang. beginnings hold the promise of new lessons to be learned, new territory to be explored, and old lessons to be recalled, practiced, and appreciated. Beginnings hold ambiguity, promise, fear, and hope.

Don’t let the lessons, the experiences of the past, dampen your enthusiasm for beginnings. Just because it’s been hard doesn’t mean it will always be that difficult. Don’t let the heartbreaks of the past cause you to become cynical, close you off to life’s magic and promise. Open yourself wide to all that the universe has to say.

Let yourself begin anew. Pack you bags. Choose carefully what you bring, because packing is an important ritual. Take along some humility and the lessons of the past. Toss in some curiosity and excitement about what you haven’t yet learned. Say your goodbyes to those you’re leaving behind. Don’t worry who you will meet or where you will go. The way has been prepared. The people you are to meet will be expecting you. A new journey has begun. Let it be magical. Let it unfold.

All parts of the journey are sacred and holy.

Take time now to honor the beginning.

Trust Your Heart

For so long, you relied on your head. Now it’s time to make the shift-the great leap into your heart.

Are you beginning to see how your head gets in the way? How it creates so much noise? The chatter, the limited vision, the fear? Are you beginning to see how what you’ve relied on-your intellect your assessments, and sometimes your logic-has complicated your life?

It isn’t the head that sees clearly, nor does the head always see with love. Often, it sees with eyes of fear. The heart sees clearly. It balances the mind and emotions. It takes what’s real and processes it into truth, then into action. It takes into account all that needs to be done, then draws a map, an itinerary, for how to accomplish that. Yes, you say, but ,my head does that too. and then i don’t need to feel….

Your heart can do it better because it maps the way in love.

Learn to listen to your inner voice. Listen to your heart. It’s your connection to God (the divine/source/atman/spirit)*,

to people, to the universe, and to yourself.
